Paula Nystrom's courageous four year battle with ovarian cancer ended peacefully on May 23, 2010. Paula was born July 17, 1960 (age 49) in Dayton, Ohio and raised in the Greater Kansas City, Missouri area. While living in Kansas City she met her soul mate Stan Nystrom which started a loving relationship of 33 years. They married August 20, 1988 and moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. Her first 10 years in Arizona she worked for American Reliable Insurance Company where she was Vice President of ISM, until leaving to help in her husband's business. Paula was responsible for starting Accessible Vans of Phoenix, a company providing rental vans for individuals with disabilities. In addition to, she was the Executive Director of Accessible Vans of America, a National Association of members providing wheelchair accessible vans. Paula leaves behind in the Phoenix area her husband Stan Nystrom and their two cats Irie and Chubby, mother Dorothy Fisher, stepdaughter Hope Davis, son-in-law Galen, grandsons Connor and Logan. In the Kansas City area Paula leaves behind her father Eugene Fisher and his wife Joy Fisher, her three brothers Allen, Roy, Kirk Fisher and their families. From Camdenton, Missouri stepdaughter Rachel Corrigan, son-in-law Casey, and grandson Derek. Paula will be deeply missed by her family and her friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Nystrom's home Saturday afternoon June 26, 2010.
