I worked for Captain Fodor 29 years ago when I arrived at USCG HQ in Washington, DC. He was a wonderful mentor to me as a young officer and I greatly respected him. He was kind, gracious and had a wonderful sense of humor! Many in the Coast Guard and Public Health Service are sad to hear of his passing. LT Keith Midberry, USCG (Ret.)

Dick was a very special brother-in-law who will be greatly missed. Our across-the- country telephone chats, in recent years, provided an enjoyable sharing of family activities, sports, political tidbits, even physical pains on occasion! My sympathy is extended to Isabelle, and to all family members. I am grateful that Dick carried the banner for the Fodor clan into a "ripe" old age.
