Me & My Dad "2013"

Susan Napp/Janik

April 26, 2014

My Dad
My Dad was the "Best" we ever had,
With 5 girls & 2 boys,
We sure made for them a lot of noise!
He was dedicated to raising a "big" family with work & then play,
That it definitely made him tired at the end of the day!
Dad raised us by taking us to church & with strict discipline too,
To implant that knowledge for us then to do.
He played football with us & the neighborhood kids in the street,
They all thought my dad was pretty neat!
It was comical when they would ask my dad to come out & play,
And he usually did after supper that same day.
Vacations by station wagon of course were taken,
With us kids yelling, bickering & fights,
It was hard to take in all the sights.
Dad was comical at times & could be real stubborn too,
But he was a big softie when we begged & pleaded for going out & for something to do.
We had to be home when the street lights came on he said,
If not, he would whistle for us again & again,
Then we knew we would get sent to bed.
His medical conditions had him up & down,
It had always made us frown.
He'd say why hasn't God taken me yet?
We'd say dad, God has a plan for you I bet!
So by the Grace of God he would bounce right back,
But now the body is under attack,
With the numbers way off track,
I don't think they will be coming back.
Now everything is going awry,
And the time is close for the body to die.
So dad, outstretch your arms like eagle wings,
And listen to what the angel sings,
As it will lead you to your Creator the King,
And you & mom will reunite as one,
Singing praises together in a song,
There forever long!
I Love You Dad!
Love, your daughter
Susan

My best memory of Mr. Napp is, every time he saw me he'd say, "Maria, you are too beautiful not to be famous! Why are you not famous? I am going to be your agent and we're going to Hollywood and I am going to make you famous..." <3 <3 I know you helping look after my boy.... thank you for that.

I remember well, all the good times we shared at work. We also spent a lot of time on the golf courses of Az., nothing but fond memories. Before my daughter, Sarah, was born he started collecting stuffed animals from the grocery store arcades where you use the little crane to pull out the toys, he had an enormous collection for her by the time she was born. Such a good man, he helped shape my life. Till we meet again up yonder. Rest in peace my friend.

In Loving Memory of My Father.

Thank you for all that you have done for me throughout my life. The fun family vacations across the country, our visit into Canada, the family card/game nights, the help with my math homework (that I never understood), my braces, all of the great family times we shared, and for your help guiding and shaping me into the adult I am today.
I will cherish your memory forever!

Love your baby daughter ~ Angie~

I remember when my gramps used to save frosty coupons from cereal boxes and he would take me and Laurie to Wendy's to get one. When we were little, we lived with him and grams and I would be running from my brothers who were trying to hit me and I would run into his room to be safe haha. He's the best grandpa ever!! He will be forever missed. I love you gramps!!
