A resident of Arizona since 1970, living in Tucson, Yuma, Fountain Hills, and finally Goodyear. He was born April 1, 1934, in Iron Mountain, MI, the son of Edward and Charlotte Burke Pavlat. Robert was a 1952 graduate of Galesburg High School in Galesburg, IL. He married Sharon McGill on September 1, 1956 and later Melanie Babich on June 22, 1963. He is survived by his wife Melanie, Goodyear, 4 sons, Kurt (Roseanne), Athol, ID, Mark (Marianne), Dix Hills, NY, Steve (Jennifer), Salinas, CA, Brian (Lisa), Goodyear, AZ, a daughter, Susan (Bruce), Tucson, AZ, a sister, Judy Stottler of Viola, IL, 9 grandchildren Christina, Robert, Christopher, Lauren, Kaitlyn, Tyler, Zane, Alexandra, and Ethan, and 5 great grandchildren. His parents and older sister Ione Hulick proceeded him in death. Robert proudly served in the United States Navy submarine fleet 1953-1954 and pursued a life-long career in the floor covering and ceramic tile trade. Outside of work he passionately loved to coach youth baseball, camp, fish, and play golf, especially with his children and grand-children. Bob was known and loved for his enormous personality and quick sense of humor, especially his pithy "Bob-isms", and will be deeply missed by his wife, family, and friends. Cremation rites have been accorded with a memorial service to be scheduled at a later date. It would be appreciated that any donations made in his memory be sent to local youth baseball programs.
