Robert Wendal Watson

Robert Wendal Watson, The last of our beloved uncles, Bobby Watson, has joined his brothers, his wife, and his parents in their heavenly home. Robert Wendal Watson passed away on December 7, 2007 from a short illness with his loving nieces, nephews, and step-daughter at his side. Bob was a native of Phoenix, having been born September 5, 1931. Bob attended Murphy Elementary School and graduated from West High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in the early 1950's. While working for the Wilson School District he met and married his wife of 37 years, Lois Mae. Bob was a commercial painter most of his professional life and was on the job when he became suddenly ill and consequently succumbed. Survivors include step-daughter Gail Zimmerman, sisters-in-law Verna Mae Watson of Phoenix, Winona Watson of Berkeley, CA and Marilyn Watson of DeKalb, TX; nieces Cheryle Watson Richardson, Lori Watson Orlando, nephews Troy Watson, Jr., Marty Watson, Glen Watson and Dennis Watson all of the Phoenix metropolitan area, and Jeremy Watson of Sahuarita, Kevin Watson of Nogales, and Collin Watson of Yuma, AZ. Bob is preceded in death by his parents Billy and Vada Watson, his wife Lois Mae, his sister Hazel Maude Watson Chatham, and his six brothers, Carl, Bill, Burl, Troy, Hamon, and Ray. Arrangements were entrusted to Regency Mortuary. Memorial Services will be held at Regency Mortuary, 9850 W. Thunderbird Rd., Sun City, January 11, 2008 at 10:00 AM followed by a military interment at the Veteran's Cemetery on Cave Creek Road.
