Rodger Kells Obituary
Chandler - Rodger Earl Kells was born in Alexandria, VA October 13, 1955. He died unexpectedly in his Chandler home on February 27, 2018. Rodger moved to Tempe to attend ASU in 1978, he graduated from ASU and made Arizona his home. He worked as an electrical engineer at several large electronic corporations in the valley throughout his career. He last business was his own business, Semiconductor Consultants. Rodger was always an avid sports fan. He loved the Arizona Cardinals, Diamondbacks, the Washington Redskins, and was a lifelong Sun Devil. He was active with his daughter in Special Olympics and the Arizona Dragon Boat Association. He also loved to cook, travel, and spend time with his children and grandsons. Rodger was predeceased by his father Earl Kells and leaves behind his mother Nessie Kells, wife Delores Kells, daughter Kayla Simpson, son and daughter-inlaw Kyle and Justine Simpson, his grandsons Talon, Cole, and Rhett, and his inlaws Robert and LaVonne Wiggins. Rodger will be dearly missed by his family, extended family of sister, brother, aunt, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephew, as well as his many friends. Please join his family in celebrating his life at Mt. View Lutheran Church, 11002 S. 48th Street in Ahwatukee Friday, March 9 starting at 11:00 a.m.with a reception to follow.

If you knew Rodger, then you had a friend. Intelligent, super nice and always ready to help out or stop what he was doing to chat or work on a test problem. I was fortunate to work with Rodger for over 15 years and to spend personal time with him once more last year - too bad it became our last time together. Rodger gave so much and had so much more to give this world. My condolences to Rodger's family and friends and to his extended Semi Test Consultant family. Via con Dios mi Amigo

I knew Rodger for over 17 years. A good friend who never had a bad word to say about anybody. I will miss our lunch meetings, and seeing the occasional ASU football game. He was such a fan of his ASU Sun Devils.....R.I.P. my friend

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Rodger's family and the vast number of friends that know all to well his compassion for enjoying life and making others feel they are a special part of his life.
With nearly 50 years of memories supplying so many shared stories it is hard to recall them all. They are both happy and sad but not one is a bad memory.
Rodger is already deeply missed and always loved.

Life was grand having Rodger as a long time friend. He will always be my best man. He touched the lives of many. My thoughts and prayers are with them and his family especially during this time of transition and the journey that lays ahead.
