I was just thinking about my old violin teacher, Mr. Whaley, and wanted to look him up. I am so saddened to hear of his passing. There was no orchestra in the west valley, so he drove out to me to give me private lessons. He would come to our house for years, teach, joke and talk, have coffee and build me up. We didn't agree on politics or football teams (who liked the Redskins except Mr. Whaley?!), but I adored our time together. I hope his family knows he was so special to so many, even people now in their mid 30s that remember lessons with him! All the best.

I will miss Ron. I play music on the street. Ron always saw me as more then a street performer. I will never forget this giant of a man.

For almost 20 years at about this time I would pick Ron up at the airport in Sacramento to bring him to our home where he would stay while playing violin in the Music in the Mountains Orchestra. We had our rituals and traditions including a trip to Lake Tahoe where he would always find gifts for Butch and me and Jeannie, his cherished wife. He became a member of our family and and extended family. As my cousin said "Ron left vivid memories."

With an awesome talent
from God, Ron brought to so many of us a delight to our ears and hearts the gift of music!
I will miss the many talks of Abraham and
the yearly plight of the
Redskins. Praying for you Jeanie.
