Holly, Jeanette, Ginger, Kristy and family:
I was so saddened to hear of your loss. The first thing Scott told me when I came to work for him was that no matter what he was doing, if any of you needed him, I should interrupt him immediately because you all came first. (By the way, I said I worked "for" him, but whenever I said that, he corrected me and said, "You work WITH me not FOR me!" That was Scott.) Scott cherished every one of you.
Scott was the only true gourmet I ever knew, although he still loved a good Chicago-style hot dog! He was also generous, kind hearted, and smart too. He was also a humble man and told me several times that he couldn't believe that "this little Chicago boy is a lawyer." He told me that every time he told someone he was a lawyer, it still didn't sound right, because even after all those years of practicing, he still found it dreamlike to say it.
I thank God that He gave me an opportunity on this a-lot-of-times-crazy earth to work for (WITH!) such a nice man. Everyone should have an opportunity to work for (WITH!) someone like him in their life time. When I moved out of state I told him how wonderful it was to work for (WITH!) him for those years. He crouched down to my height, patted me on the back, and said, "We didn't just work together, we're friends!" Once again, that was Scott -- always thinking of how others felt first, before trying to make himself the "boss."
With sincerest condolences to Scott's beautiful family that he loved and was so very proud of...more than anything on this earth,
Serena

We fondly remember fun times shared at the Diamondback games. It was our only connection, but enough to know Scott as a wonderful man. We were so sad to hear of his passing and our sincere condolences to Holly and his family.

My heart is filled with sadness. My memories of Scott are so wonderful - a wonderful family man, who always put his family first; a great boss, who knew how to delegate and appreciate; someone who loved life, and wine, and travel and shared many stories that entertained all. He had a sense of what was right, and a community spirit that was infectious. He inspired others to do more. His work ethic was bar none. He loved his clients and worked hard for them, always doing what was right. Scott did everything with passion and kindness. Jeanette, Holly, Ginger and Kristen, my thoughts and prayers are with you and family. Scott was a wonderful man. He will be truly missed.

Although it's been almost 45 years since I last saw Scott, memories from our time at DePaul University are still with me: Scott was a friend who had a zest for life that was contagious. My thoughts and prayers are with Holly, Ginger, Kristen, and his Mother during this difficult time.
