Sharon Davidson-Unkefer Obituary

Sharon P. Davidson-Unkefer, Kentucky Colonel, age 68 born August 10, 1940 to bless every one who would get the chance to know her, has moved to her new home in heaven August 13, 2008. Sharon was magical. In fact, one of her nicknames was "Magic Gal." She was known for her never ending generosity, thoughtfulness and compassion. Sharon was the person everyone consulted for her advice and she always encouraged both friends and family with Scripture to aid their difficulties in life. Everyone loved her and also knew of her love for dogs. Day and night she was surrounded by her 13 devoted pets, whether they were next to her at the computer or cuddled in bed. She even rescued one dog during the last two weeks of her life. Sharon worked tirelessly beside her husband, Sherman, and they became known far and near as XanGo superstars. They became the world's largest distributor of XanGo products and key contributors to XanGo's meteoric success as the fastest growing business in US history. She worked on her well-known XanGo newsletter until it was crafted to perfection. But, Sharon's greatest joy in life was to be at home in her own custom cowboy resort, surrounded by her family and her dogs, laughing, barbecuing, listening to country oldies, and laughing some more. Her husband and family meant more to her than anything in the world. She was the absolute best wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend we have all had the privilege to have in our lives. Left to cherish her memory are her Husband, Sherman Unkefer, III; Mother-in-law Jean Unkefer-Lamb; Son Harley "Packy" Davidson and Daughter-in-law Jane; Grandchildren Otis and Emma; Son Mark Davidson and Daughter-in-law Cindy; Grandchildren Mark Jr. and Luke; Son John Davidson (favorite son); Son Sean Davidson and Daughter-in-law Monae Marshall former wife of Sean Davidson; Grandchildren Joshua and Jenny; Step-son Sherman Unkefer, IV and Daughter-in-law Laundy Unkefer former wife of Sherman Unkefer, IV; Grandchildren Alexa and Sherman V, Ebony; Step-son Andrew Unkefer and Daughter-in-law Amy; Grandchildren William, Bethany, Janie, and Sarah; Step-son Ben Unkefer, Step-Daughter Erin Unkefer, Furry Children: Rugby, Maddy, RJ, Hannah, Cinder, Sammy, Cricket, Little Bit, Poppy, Biscuit, Pretty Girl, Butters, and Cedez. Donations in Sharon Davidson-Unkefer's memory may be made to her favorite charities of the donor's choice, Arizona Lutheran Academy 6036 S. 27th Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85041 or The American Society for The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals 424 E. 92nd Street, New York, NY 10128-6804 (www.aspca.org).

Dear Mom, I still think of you everyday and try to live my life in honor of you. Thank you for all the things you taught me in life and it was an honor and a blessing to have such a wonderful mom. I remember our talks early in the morning and you are always in my thoughts. Cindy, Markie, Luke and I love to talk about you and laugh and cry about precious memories. We love you Mom.

Oh, dear Sharon- you are truly missed. There is an emptiness that could never be filled. Please know that you will someday meet up with the true and constant loves of your life, your four sons, who remain devoted, will keep your legacy alive and who will eternally hold you close to their hearts.

It's hard to believe Sharon has been gone from us for a year already.

Samuel Taylor Coleridge said, "The happiness of life is made up of minute factors - the little soon-forgotten charities of a kiss or smile, a kind look, a heartfelt compliment." I miss this 'happiness' that I always got from Sharon.

Our hearts ache as one year has passed. We love and miss you. xoxo

Mama Bear,

I forgot to tell you that we got a new puppy for Johnny on Christmas. She is an adorable little black lab named Marley. I missed you even more when we got her because I wanted so much to tell you about her and to hear the love and joy in your voice everytime you talked about our 4 legged friends.

Puppy hugs,

Dear Mama Bear,

I am still thinking of you and still missing you so much. There has never been anyone in my life who touched me the way you did and I am a better person having known you. Everytime I get discouraged, frustrated or impatient with someone, I stop and think about you and wonder how you would handle the particular situation, and thanks to what you have taught me, I respond is a much more compassionate manner than I may have responded before you came into my life.

My heart has a very big hole in it -
I love you and miss you so much!

Sherman, My life will never be the same thanks to you and Sharon because if it weren't for you and the Magic Wand, I would never have heard about XanGo and would never had the privilege of meeting you and Sharon. I remember in 2004 when I ended up in my hotel room due to chest pains that Sharon called me to check up on me. She'll never know how happy I was that she cared and will always remember her. I know you miss her greatly and yet I know you will be reunited again in heaven and that is a comfort to you. God bless you richly. Keep up the good work.

Time goes on, even though I don’t want it to . I know that most grandmas are those special people that granddaughters get to see on special occasions and memorable moments and those weekend trips. My Gramma Sharon on the other hand was not just my grandma she was like a second mom to me. She got to see me almost 7 days a week for the last four years. She was there when I got accepted into the high school my mom had dreamed of me going to, she was there through the different dances and prom, she was there through the dating scene, and she was there all the days in between. I always knew that when I got home from school that my grandma would be at her desk and as soon as I walked in she would say “Alexa, Honey how your day?”, and I would tell her everything whether it was good or bad. This year, my first year of college, will be harder than I thought. My Gramma Sharon after countless attempts of trying to make me take this first year off finally realized that I was going to college, was going to move out on my own, and this would be the first year she wouldn’t get to see me everyday like the past four years of high school. But I promised her that I would make weekly visits and that she could come and stay with me at my apartment whenever she wanted. She never did get to see the apartment and didn’t even get to hear about my first day of school. I know people say that we all should be happy that her suffering is over and that she is in a better place, but the truth is I never imagined that there would be a day when I didn’t see her or talk to her. I never thought she would be gone, even after she got sick. Now she is gone and I’ve lost one of best people in my life. I know that she is better off in heaven, it just hard to let go. I love you Gramma!

We have such a short time on earth to leave our imprint. Sharon gave much and left a lasting imprint on many. Her knowledge, wisdom and warmth touched any and all people who had the opportunity to interact with Sharon. I feel grateful for having learned from her speak in at XanGo events. I treasure the picture taken last year with Sharon and Sherman and myself at convention 2007.

I wanted to write long before this but honestly couldn't find the words through the tears. Sharon, to me, was one of those people you meet in your lifetime that climbs into your very soul and remains forever. Through her friendship, support and expression of love, she has touched me like very few have.
I feel sure she affected lots of others in the same way.
May God's Love Comfort you, Sherman, and all of your family.
Sharon's work here was completed and He gently called her home to rest. Oh, the rapture of that meeting!

Few people come into our lives and leave a lasting impression. Sharon left that impression to all she met and touched. We will all miss those wonderful newsletters full of XanGo news -- but most importantly, full of God's wisdom. Her love for Him was so evident. What a heart she had to save even some of God's smaller creations, and precious to Sharon -- little dogs, who became part of her and Sherman's family. Sharon was a magnificent lady, soft in heart but strong in convictions. We are among the great many who will miss her.

Our hearts and prayers go out to Sherman and to Sharon and Sherman's families.

Sharon... I thank you and Sherman for many of your inspiring words you shared at some of the presentations. Although i wasn't in your group, I still felt like an extended part of your family. Again, the encouragement, and the humbleness, that you and sherman displayed is an example that there are still some people on this earth that are genuine, and do not let finances to "change people" as many do these days. Despite a busy itinerary, you and sherman remained just as approachable and "down to earth" as my next door neighbor...

With that, i thank you, and I can tell the lord has worked through you both to bring encouragement to so many people and to help them believe in them selves... thanks and God Bless...

The Lord has a whole new exiting life waiting for you, and will keep you safe and prosperous for the day He has your family reunite in eternity...

Thanks Sharon for the memories and encouragement!!

Dear Sherman and family

Greetings from sunny Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

We may be many miles away, but you are very much in our thoughts and in our prayers. (Sorry for the delay in writing this but we have been away.)

Sherman, thank you for your courage, your faith and your leadership. No-one can truly understand the depth of your loss, but we pray that you might be comforted by family, friends and the peace of God, which passes all understanding.

It has been over 3 years since we met, but we want you to know that you are a true blessing and that Sharon is an inspiration, even though we were not able to meet her personally.

God bless you now and always.

I needed a little time to pass before I could write about my mom, It's so cool to read all the nice things people have written and how much she meant to everyone. I was so fortunate to have her for a mom, we never really had a dad, but with my mom you didn't really need one. She would sometimes feel sad or guilty about that, but we always told her she was the best mom and dad anyone would ever want. A lot of kids we grew up with had these stiff, stuffy traditional households, but are house was always way off the beaten path but everybody loved it and felt at home with my mom. She was so kind and generous to everyone she met. When you met my mom you got the real deal and within ten minutes you loved her. She could socialize with big shots and our blue collar biker friends and everyone left smiling and saying "your mom is really great". She was. I talked with her every day, she was an early riser like me, and she'd often talk with me on my morning commute for well over an hour, we'd just laugh and talk about everything.I sure miss that, and this has been the longest time that I haven't talked to her. It's rough.I was so fortunate to spend the last couple of years with her, doing all the landscape work and spending so much time just being with her. It's like God knew, and he wanted her to be happy before she had to go.I just want to end this by saying how much I love my mom and there's a special place in the yard that her and I would talk and share things early in the morning, even when she was sick, and I'm glad I was able to build that for you, mom. I love my brothers and want to thank everyone who was there when mom needed them, you know who you are and you are angels and I will never forget your kindness and strength. See you Ma.
