Thomas Edward Altieri, of Phoenix, Arizona, died peacefully at home with his family beside him on July 1, 2006. He was born in Bronx, New York to the late Peter J. and Catherine Altieri and was retired President of JP Mitchell & Company. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. Tom is survived by the love of his life, Josephine. He was her Charlie Brown. He will be deeply missed by his children Peter J. Altieri (The Barron), Joanne Johnson (Run), Diane Phillips (Wanda), Cathy Griffin (Nipper) and Thomas J. Altieri (Spot) and his son and daughter-in-laws, Christine Altieri, Tim Johnson, Dale Phillips, Jeff Griffin and Amy Altieri. Tom leaves 9 grandchildren who will so miss their Grandpa. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Granito and brothers Richard Altieri, Jimmy Altieri, John Altieri and the late Peter M. Altieri. Tom served in the United States Army and was a graduate of Columbia University in New York City. He was a Senior Vice President of Crum & Forster Insurance Company in Morristown, New Jersey. He and Jo moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1983 where they made many treasured friendships. Tom was a good guy and in his own words said, "I've had a good run". He enjoyed golf, football season, betting the races and talking sports. Most of all, he enjoyed just being with his girl, Josie (Spanky). I will miss Tom's neighborly "Hello" and "Good Morning." He always had a smile and a "pat on the head" for my doggie Sedona. Miss you around the Palazzo.
