Soo-ok and I just returned from Pakistan where they held an emergency meeting to find answers for an over 30 % loss of cotton in the country in 2015 due largely to pink bollworm. It seems they lost control of this insect that was a major target to Tom Henneberry's research over the years. I was able to pass on some of his accumulated knowledge to the Pakistani colleagues.

Tom and Nancy were part of our close professional family. We are shocked he is gone because such entomologists are irreplaceable.

Tom always had the greatest gift we can give anyone; out respect.

I worked closely with him for 18 years and cannot believe he is gone! He was larger than life but quietly and humbly so. I will miss him greatly. He is now out happily skipping through the cotton fields with his sweep net.

We will miss him so much! He was an amazing boss and friend. It was my pleasure to work beside him every day for so many years. He made running a Laboratory, doing research and publishing results seems effortless -- but we knew how much work it was. It breaks my heart to know that I won't ever see him again, but I know he had a fulfilling career and such a wonderful life with his wife, kids and grandkids.
