Vincent Baumhover Obituary

Baumhover, Vincent Lawrence
85 of Peoria, Arizona, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on September 17th, 2011. He was born in Carroll, Iowa on April 17th, 1926, one of eight children. Vince attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He was in the US Navy from 1944 to 1946 and served in the Second World War. He lived in Carroll, Iowa for many years starting his family with his wife Bonnie. They moved to Arizona in 1976. Vince devoted his life to God, his family, and his friends. Vince worked for the General Cigar Company as a salesman for 38 years. He volunteered for St. Vincent DePaul, Joshua Tree, and St. Helen's. Vince was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Vincent was pre-deceased earlier this year by his wife of 60 years, Bonnie, and may now rest in eternal peace with her. Vince is survived by 4 siblings Mildred, Mary (Robert), Kenny (Katie), and Helen; 5 children Rebecca (Van), Lisa (Michael), Timothy (Douglas), Annette (David), and Peggy (Mike); 9 grand-children Nicole (Daniel), Justin (Carlyn), Jason, Hillary, Heather, Adam (Mindy), Taylor (Kristin), Whitney (Jeffrey), and Chandler; and 5 great grand-children Ethan, Kaylan, Zachary, Alden, and Dean. Catholic Funeral Services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, September 24th, 2011 at St. Helen's Catholic Church, 5510 West Cholla Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85304. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Joshua Tree Feed Program, 1601 West Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ 85015.
