Vivian Wynn Obituary

Vivian M. Wynn, devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, lost her 2 year battle with ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease) on the morning of December 18th, 2003. She was 61. She was born in Ogden, Utah, but grew up in the Phoenix Valley, graduating from Sunnyslope HS in 1960. She worked for the City of Phoenix and then the telephone com-pany before moving to Twenty-Nine Palms, California in 1962. There, she worked in the Civil Service as a secre-tary where she met and married her husband of 40 years, a Marine Corps officer, Neal B. Wynn. Together, they moved wherever the Marine Corps sent them, including duties at Camp Pendelton, and Twenty-
Nine Palms, CA and Camp Lejuene, NC. During Neal's deployments to Vietnam and other locations, she made her home in Phoenix. Following Neal's retirement, they moved from Phoenix to Reno, NV then Hurricane, UT, then Moscow, ID. Following their son's graduation from college, they returned to Cottonwood, AZ where they resided until the summer of 2003. She was heavily involved with youth organizations and was a staunch advocate for children and families. After Vivian's diagnosis with ALS in the summer of 2002, they determined that the time had come to move closer to family and higher levels of medical care. They resided in Phoenix until Vivian's passing on the 18th. She is survived by her husband, two children and one grandchild. A viewing will be held from 9-11 AM on Tuesday December 22 at the Greenwood Serenity Chapel 719 N. 27th Ave. in Phoenix. She will be laid to rest at the Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery. The family is requesting that donations, in lieu of flowers, be made on her behalf to the Arizona Chapter of the ALS Association. She will be deeply missed.
