Blose, William "Bill"
William Blose, 85, of Scottsdale, AZ. passed away at Mayo Clinic Hospital on March 25, 2009. He was born August 17, 1923 in Terra Haute, Indiana to Benjamin Lewis and Helen Marie Blose. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty Blose Wakefield. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Virginia Delius: son William Benjamin Jr. and daughter-in-law Nita Louise of Fountain Hills: daughter Elizabeth Gilchrist and son-in-law Michael Albert Pfitzer of Ft. McDowell: daughter Barbara Helen Humble of Mesa: two grandchildren, William Benjamin "Will" III and Kelly Elizabeth and numerous nieces and a nephew. William served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, and in the U.S. Air Force in the Korean Conflict and Viet Nam War, retiring after 30 years of service as a Lt. Colonel in 1970. William made Scottsdale his home for the following 39 years. He loved flying airplanes, exploring the west in his motor home and boating at Lake Powell and the San Juan Islands. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a great friend with a big heart and had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all. Memorial services will be held at messenger Fountain Hills Mortuary, 12065 N. Saguaro Blvd, Fountain Hills, AZ., Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Disabled American Veterans, 1510 N. 79th Street, Scottsdale, AZ. 85257.
