William Schultz Obituary

William C. Schultz William C. Schultz, 80 passed away peacefully in his Scottsdale home, on Thursday September 21, 2006, surrounded by his loving family. William passed away after a 17 year battle with cancer. William Charles Schultz (also known as Bill, Willie, or Tucker) was born on July 30, 1926 in McKeesport Pennsylvania. Bill always had a passion for music. He began in the music industry by repairing instruments and playing saxophone and clarinet in a professional band. Bill then began working at Yamaha as a salesman and in time became president. Bill attracted the attention of Fender Musical Instruments and was asked to lead the company. Music Trades magazine once named him "the man who saved Fender" and named him Man of the Year in 1999. In addition to being a successful business man, Bill was also a successful family man. Bill was married 61 years, to his high school sweetheart Mary Jane. Bill was a husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, a friend, and an inspiration to us all. We thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new. We thought about you yesterday and days before that too. We think of you in silence, we often speak your name. All we have are memories and your picture in a frame. Your memory is our keepsake with which we will never part. God has you in his keeping, but we will always have you in our heart. Papa... You're the Best!!! The family service will be private. A Celebration of Life will be held in the weeks to come. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to charities that will be listed at www.fender.com/billschultz
