Willis Hansen Obituary

Willis Ray Hansen 'Willie', July 18th, 1925 - April 4th, 2006. Willie was born in Tomah, Wisconsin to Mr. and Mrs. William Hansen. Willie met his soon to be wife Phyllis Jane Temple-Hansen after serving in WWII as a Naval Gunman. Willie and Phyllis were married in 1952, they moved to Arizona in September 1956 just before their daughter Janet turned one. Willie had three children Erick Hansen, Dawn Ann Hansen, and Janet Lynn Rawlinson. He also had 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grand- children Spencer Lee, Joshua Brown, Amber Knutson, Micah Rawlinson and Corrissa Rawlinson; Julia Brown, Galadriel Lee, Anna Brown and Eowyn Lee. He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis and his daughter Dawn. Willie worked as a Steele welder and also cut hair for some of the people that lived in his neighborhood until a brief cutting of a grandchild's ear which ended that era……Willie loved taking his children and grandchildren to Apache and Roosevelt lakes to fish and camp, when he couldn't get out to those it was off to the Phoenix Zoo. Willie loved to draw, sketch, doodle, tell war stories, go to Payson, but most of all he loved Phyllis. He has been called a husband, father, grandpa but just don't call him late for dinner or not finish yours or 'Down Goes Your Meathouse!' Flower or Cards can be sent to 2017 N. 47th St, Phoenix, Az 85008, or in lieu of those a donation can be made to the Phoenix Zoo.
