Thank goodness I was part of the Project Potential @ Desert View.
Mr Ashley had the best pizza parties serving "Toes" Appetitos.
The after school juggling class was fun too. There was every juggling Apparatus known to man :)

I was just thinking about when I attended a leadership camp when I was in high school in Arizona. I was thinking about a song we used to sing that I remember and sing to this day. And then I remembered Zeke as an advisor at the camp teaching how we shouldn’t take ourselves too seriously and flashing the sign of the buzzard. He taught me a lot! I went to search for him online and sadly found this news. To his family, as I’m sure you are well aware, he certainly touched many lives and shaped so many young people. I’m 50 now and I remember what an impact he had on me as a 16 year old. What a very special human he was!

Mr. Zeke Ashley. You were my algebra teacher in 8th grade Royal Plam junior high! I used to sit in seat #1 . Right by the door. Most of the year that was my seat. Unless I got lazy then seat #2 would get my butt ( but not often ) I remember how special and proud that made me feel! And how back in those days nobody was angry if they were in the front row. They giggled and kept trying. I’m class of ‘92. Thank you for your kindness. If anyone in heaven knows me; I know that you know me. Hands down to an amazing teacher. RIP

Sitting at a bar in Santorini, Greece talking about one of my favorite teachers. I looked you up in hopes of finding a picture. Sadly, I found this instead. You were an incredible personality. Thank you for you enthusiasm, mentorship, and kindness. Im still the best juggler I know because of you :)

A terrible loss of an unforgettable teacher. I will always remember Mr. Ashley (and his many ties) with a smile...

Zeke,
You were one of my favorite teachers and you made Geometry in 7th grade fun, even though I could never advance higher than 4th chair. Were it not for you, I would not have learned how to juggle or know the Sign of the Buzzard. And it was a privilege and very special experience, to have shared the Anytown experience with you.
Rest in peace,
