Albert "Al" Perreault, 81, of Pumpkin Center (just north of Parks), died Tuesday, May 19, 2009.
He was born on December 31, 1927, in Canada and was raised in the state of Washington before joining the military to serve in World War II. After being discharged, he moved to Arizona working as a test mechanic for GM prior to moving to northern Arizona where he began his career with the U.S. Forest Service with the Kaibab National Forest in Williams.
His career with the Forest Service began in 1958, and he retired in 1983. Al married Mary Munoz, on Sept. 12, 1964, and moved out to Pumpkin Center, where they enjoyed their 44 years together raising their two daughters.
After retirement, he did roadwork with his grader and enjoyed it thoroughly until he retired in 2008. He also enjoyed fishing, traveling, snowmobiling, camping and riding horses, but by far his greatest enjoyment was time spent at the ranch with his family and having a cup of coffee on the front porch with the dogs.
He was preceded in death by his father, Emil Perreault, mother, Eva Bourdeau Perreault, his brother George Perreault and sisters Margurite Perreault and Maria Blass.
He is survived by his wife Mary; daughter Mariaelle Perreault of Williams; daughter Marisa (Todd) Abel of Dewey; and sister Blanche (Dick) Freed of Buckley, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews, as well as cousins.
He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends and acquaintances.
Holy Rosary will be Tuesday, May 26, at 10 a.m., followed by Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 900 W. Grant Ave., in Williams.
