Braidon Budd Obituary

Braidon Michael Budd, 21, of Page, died Friday, May 11, 2007. He was born Oct. 4, 1985, in Page, to Brady and Teresa Budd.

In August of 1986, he moved to Catalina Island, Calif., with his parents, where he would spend most of his youth. He moved back to Page in August 2000.

While living on Catalina and growing into a young man, Mr. Budd discovered a great passion: love and appreciation for the ocean. He was a certified Jr. Life Guard for L.A. County for two years of his teenage life. He enjoyed fishing, snorkeling or just being on the water on his boat.

At the age of 3, he received his first drum set. At the age of 6, he participated in his first local search for talent, where he won and continued his competing in many more contests. He went all the way to the finals representing the Southern California district competing against the winners of the western states. After a few years of competing he formed his own band in which he was the youngest, only 10 years old, playing with boys that were in high school. They named their band "Group Therapy," and they were a hit on the Island playing at many local functions and parties. When he moved to Page he was instrumental in getting the local band together called "Discipline." He started as the band's drummer but soon became its lead singer.

Mr. Budd played baseball. He rode motorcycles and raced in many motocross races. He was an extremely good skateboarder and helped his mother open Havoc Board Shop when they moved back to Page.

At the time of his death Mr. Budd worked as chef at the Dam Barr and Grille. He was very creative in the kitchen and loved his job.

He was a loving son, a brother, and father and was excitingly waiting for the birth of his second child in October.

Mr. Budd is survived by his loving companion Kayla Lee of Page; his 5-year-old daughter Jaiden Kalie Budd of Flagstaff; parents Brady Budd and Teresa Budd of Page; sisters Brendyce Budd and Asarae Budd; brother Daran Budd; a grandmother; a grandfather; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a grandmother and two grandfathers.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made at the National Bank of Arizona in Mr. Budd's name in behalf of his surviving children.

Services will be Wednesday, May 16, at 10 a.m., at the LDS Stake Center in Page.
