John Potter Obituary

John Albert Potter III passed away from heart failure on September 7, 2025, in Boise, Idaho. He was born on January 15, 1936. A longtime resident of Flagstaff, Arizona, John held a deep affection for the community, even after relocating later in life. In the mid-1980s and 1990s, he was a familiar and beloved presence in the kitchens of Coconino High School and St. Mary's Catholic School, where his dedication left a lasting impression on students and staff. He also contributed to the early development of Flagstaff Engineering, helping lay the foundation for its growth and success. John proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1962. He is survived by his wife, Cherie; three children-Julie Carter, Josh Potter, and Jeremy Potter; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Arrangements were handled by Summers Funeral Home in Boise, Idaho, in coordination with the Veterans Administration.
