Scott Wilkinson Obituary

Scott Lewis Wilkinson
February 11, 1949 - June 30, 2025
Born on February 11, 1949, in Pomona, California, Scott lived a vibrant and adventurous life marked by creativity, passion for the outdoors, and deep connections with those around him.
He was the beloved son of Bess Wilkinson and the late Earl "Sonny" Wilkinson. Scott is survived by his mother, Bess; his twin sister, Nancy Marshall; and his brothers, James Wilkinson and Brad Wilkinson.
After graduating from high school, Scott headed to Northern Arizona University in the mountain town of Flagstaff, where he pursued a degree in fine arts, specializing in glass blowing. A lifelong athlete and adrenaline-seeker, Scott was passionate about the outdoors and lived for movement, challenge, and thrill. From pole vaulting and sailing to surfing, skiing, flying, hang gliding, softball, golf, and fishing, if it involved the outdoors and a sense of freedom, Scott was all in.
Scott raised his family in Flagstaff alongside his former wife, Diana. Together, they had three sons: Brandon, Ryan, and Lane. He loved his sons, and took great pride in the families Ryan built with his wife Jessica and Lane with his wife Marisela. Scott was a proud and loving grandfather to five grandchildren: Alaina, Christopher John, Lucia, Jacob, and Natalia.
In his 40s, Scott's passion for surfing was reignited during trips to Cabo San Lucas, a place that captured his heart and soon became his second home.
Scott also found purpose and success in a different kind of creative pursuit: architecture and design. He built a thriving career designing high-end custom homes throughout Northern Arizona. His artistic vision and attention to detail left a lasting legacy, particularly in the communities of Pine Canyon and Forest Highlands.
For the last 12 years, Scott shared his life with his "ride-or-die," Maureen Connolly. Together they explored, embraced adventure, logged countless miles on his motorcycle, and spent a lot of time with her family.
Scott passed unexpectedly on June 30, 2025, while doing what he loved most, surfing the waves at El Tule beach in Cabo San Lucas.
He will be deeply missed and remembered for his legendary love of life, the outdoors, and adventure. Scott's easygoing spirit, creative heart, and joyful way of living touched everyone he met. His legacy lives on in the people he loved, the homes he built, and the waves he chased.

I've known Scott for many years and enjoyed skiing, and also surfing in Cabo with him. One of the truly great people I've had the pleasure of knowing. Rest in peace my friend, wish we could have gone surfing one more time! He died as he lived, who could ask for more.
