Angela DiRocco Obituary
March 24, 1961 – April 6, 2025
Bakersfield – Angela Stella DiRocco was born March 24, 1961 in Los Angeles, California, to Mary and Luigi DiRocco. She passed away suddenly on April 6, 2025, at age 64. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother, Robert DiRocco; her nephew, Tyler DiRocco (longtime girlfriend, KD Eastman); and her niece, Kelsey Barrie (husband, TJ), along with their children, Carly and Hudson Barrie.
The family moved to Bakersfield in 1963, where Angela attended St. Lawrence Catholic School. She graduated from Garces Memorial High School in 1979. She went on to graduate in 1985 from California State University, Bakersfield, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a minor in Computer Science and Mathematics.
Angela's first job was as a data processor at American National Bank. She later worked as a legal secretary at Gill and Gill Attorneys at Law, and as a bookkeeper at Fred S. McAtee Law Office. She spent the majority of her career at Kern Schools Federal Credit Union, working at the Ming and Mt. Vernon branches, and later at Espeeco Federal Credit Union.
Angela was a member of several professional affiliations, including the National Notary Association, the National Association of Investment Clubs, and the National Association of Independent Travel Agents. In addition to running her travel agency business, she also tutored high school students in Algebra and Geometry.
She was a member of the Women of the Italian Heritage Dante Association, a board member of the Italian Catholic Federation No. 281, a member of the Cal State Alumni Association, and a past president of the Cal State Kiwanis organization.
Angela loved her work, but her true passion in life was attending concerts and plays in the Los Angeles and Bakersfield areas. She especially loved New York Broadway musicals, often seeing them many, many times! She loved traveling with her mother and made numerous trips to Canada to visit family in Montreal and Quebec. The duo also took many trips to Las Vegas and Laughlin.
She will be greatly missed by family and long time friends Gerry Kimm, Cathy Viss, and Diane Ducato. We will especially miss her big smile, laughter, kind ways, and phone calls.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Rd., Bakersfield.

I worked with Angela at Kern Schools FCU and became an instant friend with her. She had a heart of gold and was always there if needed. I last met with Angela when I visited Bakersfield after having moved away many years before. I was very saddened to hear of her passing. However, I rejoice for Angela as she can now be with her beloved family that left our world before she did. I pray that God will wrap His arms around Angela's family and wide circle of friends. I will be thinking of her during her services as I will not be able to personally attend.
