Dear Geri,
We were so sorry to hear about Art's passing...we always admired and had enormous respect that great man. 33 years ago Art built our lovely country home where we raised our family and still live to this day. Many lives have been blessed for having known Art.

Dear Jeri: I will be writing you soon. We were shocked and saddened by Art's passing. Our hearts go out to you and your lovely family. Words cannot express our fondness for both you and Art. Art was a great man and we loved him. I know how proud he was of his posterity, and I know how grateful they must be for his legacy of faith and goodness. As I learned of the passing of Patriarch Adams, I remembered many warm greetings from him throughout the years. I also think of his fine wife, children and grandchildren who I have had the pleasure of knowing in both Bakersfield Stake and South Stake. Always a smile and a handshake, that was Art. Such a nice person. I well remember the patriarchal blessings he gave to our daughters. He will be missed so much, yet he still lives, only in another realm, very close to us. We will see him again, and it will seem like only a short time.

Patriarch Adams has always been my favorite Bishop. Whenever I am at the Temple I can always count on his warm handshake and friendship. He truly made a profound mark on my soul by his viliant example. I know only a few men who measure up to the example he has been. My Father-in-law George James said it best when he wrote "The world was a much better place from him being here". Sister Adams, Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Art gave both my husband Josh and I our patriarchal blessings. Josh was #1 and I was #84. I will never forget the wonderful spirit that was in the room as he relayed Heavenly Father's blessing to me. He always had a glowing spirit around him and you couldn't help but smile when he was around. I know he touched the James family and the Smith family tremendously. Our most profound sympathies for you in your time of loss.

Art was my mother in laws hometeacher. The day my mother in law passed away at the hospital he and Jerri felt the need to come after church to see her. They came just when we needed them the most. We will always be grateful for the fellowship and example they lived.

I have not seen Art since high school. We lived across the street from him on Arvin Street in Oildale. Art was a couple of years older than me, but I still remember him and some of the games we all played at night in the middle of Arvin St. My deepest sympathy goes out to all his family. I have nothing but fond memories of him and all of our Arvin street bunch.
