Bakersfield Barbara Lue Barker was born on February 20, 1930 in Bakersfield, California. She passed away March 8, 2024 from Vascular Dementia. She attended Kern High School and worked at odd jobs during the late 40's. She married Walter Barker in April 1950. They had three children, Bruce, Wayne and Anna. They would have completed 74 years of marriage next month. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and quilting. Around her 60's, Barbara decided to try painting, and became very good at it.
She was preceded in death by her son Wayne and her daughter Anna. She leaves behind her loving husband Walter, her son Bruce (Concha), several grandsons and granddaughters, and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their gratitude to her caretakers at Mercy Divine Care Home. And also appreciate the care provided by the nurses from Hoffmann Hospice Services.

Mrs. Barker was also an excellent neighbor for so many years. She is missed in the neighborhood.
