BELEN BEE KOTZ

August 8, 1932 September 26, 2021

Our beloved mom, Belen Bee Kotz passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 26, 2021, after a struggle with COPD and COVID, with the family by her side. Bee was born in El Paso, Texas to Manuel and Soledad Sally Moncada. She was the eldest of five children: Mary Borges, Connie (Ted) Borges, Manuel (Rebecca) Moncada and Diane (Larry) Andrade.

The family moved to Fresno, California where Bee attended St. Alphonsus Elementary school and San Joaquin Memorial High School (Class of 1951). Her first job was at Valley Glass Company where she met our dad, William Bill Kotz, Sr. They were married on October 23, 1955. Dad was transferred to Bakersfield in 1962.

Mom returned to the workforce and her final job was at Bakersfield High School. She loved her time working with the staff and students and retired after many memorable years.

Mom was a long-time member of St. Francis and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Churches and always remained faithful to our Lord God and Savior. After our dad's passing in 1995, Bee moved to Kern City and attended daily mass at St. Phillips Church where she met and forged many wonderful relationships that changed her life forever. She became an active member of the Grief and Breakfast groups and spent countless hours happily playing her favorite game of Mexican Train with her friends.

Mom desired that we, in her words, express a heartfelt thank you to the many kind friends who have provided prayer, good wishes, and support during her many illnesses. As a family we could not be any more appreciative of the loving support from her numerous friends. Words cannot adequately express what you all meant to her and to us.

Mom is survived by her children, Linda (John) Fallgatter, Bill (Lisa) Kotz, Michael (Sharon) Kotz, and Debbie (Craig) Chapman; brother-in-law, Ralph (Jeanie) Kotz, nine grandchildren: Mallary (Mark) Prophet, Caitlin Witt, Lauren Kotz, Shane Kotz, Drew (Cassidy) Chapman, Jake (Brooke) Kotz, Mason Kotz, Haley Witt, Claire Chapman, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her spouse - Bill Kotz; baby sister, Diane Andrade; Jeff Molatore and Fred Witt, sons-in-law; Barney Borges, brother-in-law; niece and nephew, Rosie, and Steve Borges.

Her children will miss her unconditional love, weather reports, news feed, and routine caution to be careful.

Visitation will be held on October 7, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. at Greenlawn Southwest Cemetery, 2739 Panama Lane, Bakersfield. Mass of Christian burial will be on October 8, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 12300 Reina Road at 10:00 a.m. with graveside services following at Greenlawn Southwest Cemetery.

I am so sorry to hear of Bee's passing. She and my mom, Glenna Seeley, worked together at BHS and were very dear friends. I look back with a smile at so many of the stories my mom would tell about how she and Bee interacted. May God comfort you all with the knowledge that your mom is now in paradise with her Savior and all of her loved ones that preceded her.

To Bee´s children: you were blessed with the most wonderful Christian mother anyone could ask for. She will be waiting for you in Heaven for the grandest reunion !
I was most fortunate to have Bee in my life for 49 years; we were like family.
Bee was the spark of life; she reflected the love and light of Jesus to everyone.
Bee was the life of the party; she made sure everyone was having a good time! Pure joy!
At the job at BHS, She was as smart as a whip n loved by everyone!
She´s leaving a void in many heart!

Bee, I love you so my sweet friend,,, we will meet again......
