Memorial services for Bea Hamor will be held on Friday, September 6, 2002, at 3:30 p.m., Olive Knolls Church of the Nazarene, 6201 Fruitvale Ave., Bakersfield, CA 93308. Bea was born in Estancia, New Mexic, to Mattie Bell and Albert Hibler. She was the oldest of four children; her sister and brothers preceded her in death. Beas fondest childhood memories were of times she spent on her grandparents ranch in Estancia. She loved to tell tales of her grandmother killing rattlesnakes with a buggy whip.
She met her husband Ted Hamor in Abilene, Texas, where they were married in 1939. In 1952 they moved their family to Seattle, Washington from the L.A. area. They were married 48 years before Ted went home to the Lord. Her son, Ted, Jr. also preceded Bea in death.
Bea moved to Bakersfield in 1996 and became active in the church where she quickly made many friends. Bea had a loving spirit that drew people to her. She never met a stranger.
Bea went into the loving arms of Jesus on August 30, 2002. Those she left behind include her son, Terry and daughter-in-law, Michelle; daughter, Bev and son-in-law, Gene and daughter-in-law, Helga. Grandchildren, Mike Hamor and wife, Jenny, Beccy Whitehurst and husband, Shawn, Eddy French and wife, Terry, Chris Reckard and wife, Sarah, Thorsten Kilburn and eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
