Charlotte Leaf Obituary

Charlotte A. Leaf
July 17, 1933 to May 8, 2018

Our loving mother and grandmother, Charlotte Leaf, was called to her heavenly home on May 8, 2018. Charlotte was born in Taft, California to Robert and Bessie Wagner. She attended Midway School in Fellows and graduated from Taft Union High School in 1951. A fateful meeting at Bakersfield Speedway led to 66 years of marriage to Galen "Swede" Leaf. Charlotte worked in the restaurant business for many years. She was an amazing cook. She was an accomplished pianist and loved music. Charlotte made her home a safe haven for many and was always able to provide insight and guidance. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the crowning achievement in her life. They were her "precious angel babies."

Her great joy in life was serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a prayer warrior, teacher, and mentor. Her musical talent was put to good use in worship and holiday programs. We are sure that right after mom went through the Pearly Gates, she headed for the nearest piano. Such sweet joy for her!

Charlotte is preceded in death by her brothers, Bob Wagner and John Wagner and her sister, Bettie Teel. She is survived by her husband, Galen Leaf, brother, Harold Wagner (Donna), sisters-in-law, Corene Wager, Anna Wagner, and Mary Ann Daily and her brother-in-law Ken Leaf, daughter Linda Kaldenberg (Tom), her sons Gary Leaf (Cheryl) and Stephen Leaf and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.

We would like to thank Mercy Southwest Emergency room personnel and Hoffman Hospice Home for the care our mother received. She was treated with dignity and great respect. Our family would like to invite you to her memorial service at First Baptist Church of Taft, 220 North St., Monday, May 14 at 10:00 AM. There will be a public viewing from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday evening, May 13 at Erickson & Brown Funeral Home, 501 Lucard, Taft, California.
