Danny Smart Obituary

DANNY SMART

1955 - 2022

Danny passed away on June 21,2022. He passed away at home with his wife by his side.

He was born on New Year's Eve, December 31, 1955 in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, the oldest of 3 children to Gordon and Joan Smart. The family moved to Bakersfield in 1961.

Danny attended Highland Elementary, Standard Junior High and then graduated from North High School in 1974. He made many high school friends, with whom he stayed close to.

He married his best friend and forever love, Margaret Hanson in 1977 and had son, Christopher in 1981 and daughter, Michelle in 1983.

He had a very successful career specializing in Sales and Finance in the auto and RV industry. In his over 40 year career, he worked with Toyota, Nissan/BMW, Stiers RV, Camping World and Motor City Buick GMC.

Danny loved his family and his friends. His favorite phrase was, I don't have friends, I have family.

When he wasn't focusing on his family his second love was cars. Over the years he had over 30 cars. His favorites being his 1970 Cuda, 69 Camaro and his 38 Chevy Coupe.

Danny and Margaret were avid car enthusiasts and belonged to Vintage LTD car club making so many wonderful friends.

Danny dreamed of retiring some day to camp and go RVing with his family. Unfortunately, we lost Danny too soon to a very aggressive cancer in such a short time.

Danny was preceded in death by his Mom, Joan, and his brother, Don.

He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; amazing son, Christopher; incredible daughter, Michelle; 7 grandchildren, his dad, Gordon; sister, Carol and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

We are extremely blessed to have family and friends who have given us prayers, love and support. Special thanks to the family at Motor City Buick GMC. Danny so enjoyed his 10 years with all the people he interacted with on a daily basis, and his many coworkers and customers. We can't thank Peters Funeral Home enough for all their help and assistance during a very difficult time.

A memorial service will be held Friday, July29 at 10:00AM at St Elizabeth Church, 12300 Reina Rd 93312 with a celebration of Danny's life following at Speakeasy Bar and Grill at 1933 Event Center, 7900 Downing Ave, 93308. Please join us in celebrating Danny's life.

We were so sorry to hear of Danny´s death. It was our pleasure to work with him at Camping World and call him a friend. His short time in Las Vegas gave us the opportunity to get to know him. Our deepest sympathy to Margaret and the entire family
