David Morrison Obituary
February 21, 1951 – August 27, 2025
David "Dave" Leonard Morrison, 74, of Bakersfield, California, passed away peacefully at his home on August 27, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on February 21, 1951, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to Doris Eugenia and Robert Everett Morrison.
Dave proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, spending more than a year on active duty in Vietnam. He went on to build a successful career as the owner and operator of Aspen Air Inc, a business he took great pride in.
On May 24, 1986, he married Dorothy "Dottie" Black, the love of his life. Together, they shared nearly four decades filled with love, laughter, and family.
Dave was known for his contagious laugh and incredible ability to brighten the room. he was a great cook and especially loved making batches of his famous beef jerky around the holidays to share with family and friends. he also enjoyed going to the casino and trying his luck at keno or the roulette table. Above all, he loved the Lord and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Doris and Robert, his siblings, Frank, Doug, Danny, Robert "Butch", Sheryl and Erma, as well as mother-in-law, Leta Jo Black & son-in-law, Jeffrey Haddad. He was also preceded in death by his beloved cocker spaniel, Lucky.
He is survived by his wife Dottie; daughter Tina Haddad (Jason Grimm); grandchildren Jacob Haddad, Joshua Haddad, and Maci (Andrew) Oakes. He is also survived by in-laws, Vickie Moyer, Larry and Kathy Black, Mick Moyer, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn on Panama Lane on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
