Eleanor Nuban Obituary

Eleanor Ann Nuban (Garrone)

Services: Monday, Nov. 17, 11 a.m.

Beloved wife of Iraj Nuban for 47 years, passed away November 11, 2003, at home in Sacramento, surrounded by her immediate family, after a year-long battle with lung cancer. She was 69.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Iraj Nuban of Sacramento and her son, David Nuban of San Francisco. She is also survived by her sister, Norma Anderson of Bakersfield, and her brother, Edward Garrone of Monterey, and their families. She was a teacher and later librarian at Fern Bacon Middle School in Sacramento for 37 years. She was loved by family, friends, and colleagues, and will be greatly missed. Born December 21, 1933, in Bakersfield, CA, she graduated from Garces High School, then went to U.C. Berkeley. She later earned two Masters Degrees from the Sorbonne at the University of Paris, France and from Cal State, Sacramento.

Memorial service will be held Monday, November 17, 11:00 a.m., at Holy Spirit Church, 3159 Land Park Drive, Sacramento.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
