Elias V. Fombona

Elias V. Fombona 1920 - 2011 Elias Fombona Viveros, 90, died on the morning of April 23, 2011 in his Arvin, CA residence. He was born May 8, 1920 to Manuel and Balvina Fombona in Los Fresnos Guerrero Mexico. He was raised there with his brothers and sisters, on their families ranch. He never went to school, but knew how to read and write. He was a hard working man. In 1947, he came to the U.S. as a "Brazero" to make a better living. He went back to Mexico to marry Aurelia Diaz Garcia in February 1964, He had 4 more children. Elias raised a large family, having 6 children, 18 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He has been granted angel wings. Visitation is Thursday, April 28, 2011 from 5-10 PM with the Recitation of the Rosary at 7 PM at Arvin Funeral Home. Funeral Mass is Friday, April 29, 2011 at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas Church in Arvin, with burial following at Arvin Cemetery. Arvin Funeral Home www.bakersfield.com/obits
