Well Etta , I’m not sure what Don had to say when he showed up, but I’m sure it was something funny. Now you have all three of your brothers up there to look after you. I’m sure George had some good stories to share. All of you Rest In Peace

Judy and family, my heart goes out to you in the passing of your mom! What a sweet woman she was! I have many fond memories of those early years. I am sorry I was not in CA when she passed nor for her memorial service. Praying for all of you!

Etta, I only had you in my life for 50 years, From being my Cub Scout Leader with a huge heart, to my County Employee co-worker with strong work ethics, to being our close family friend. Your pain is gone but you left us with a little pain of our own: feeling sorry for ourselves. Thank you.

Aunt Mae you will be in my heart always. I will always remember our family times in Bakersfield. Thoes were memorable times, family gathered around at grandmas drinking ice tea in grandmas front yard. The times you would chase us kids out side with the fly swatter and laughing the whole time. You coming over to grandmas after work and sitting at my feet so I can brush your hair, going to the park for family BBQ and the vacation to Hawaii!
You are my dad Don Swanks Sister and I was blessed to have you as my Aunt. Rest in peace Aunt Mae I love you?

Etta is one of the kindest people I have ever met, I hadn't seen in her in years but thought of her often, a few words of wisdom she shared have stuck with me. She will be greatly missed. My condolences and prayers go to her family.

Etta was a very, very special person. We met many years ago through our membership at Coronado Baptist Church. She was always busy helping someone, being kind, and sharing the Joy of the Lord that filled her life. I had many occasions to spend time with her as she frequently rented cars from Enterprise Rent A Car...I was privileged to return her to her home on numerous occasions. Her personal car had problems and being a car nut I was able to direct her to some reliable repair shops. Etta once shared with me to desire to publish some of her late husband, George's, historical recollections here in Bakersfield...even when she was ill, she always kept pushing to do something for those she loved and cared for. I will deeply miss her and have some very fond memories to cherish.
