I, like Malinda, have been looking up friends ...too late. I remember Gerry because he was so cute. But he was older than I and so not interested in me. This was when 4 was the same as 30 in kid years. Then he went to BHS, & I went to EB.
Mt mother worked with his mother, and so I kept up with him and his exciting life that way. My mother suggested to his mother that I had always admired him & his progress in life "for a Bakersfield Kid."
When traveling in England I caught the train to Surrey to see him. He wasn't home, but I spoke briefly to one of his little daughters. Yes, the sweet child spoke with a lovely accent that worried her mother.
Gerry's mother was sadly developing Alzheimer's and so was mine. They lost touch with each other, and I lost even the 2nd-degree touch with Gerry.
I still love The Moody Blues & a-ha, & I think of Gerry, cute & smart & successful escapee from Bakersfield.

I was just looking up old friends and came across this message. I am deeply saddened that I did not look him up sooner. I worked with Gerry at the Breneman Review back in 1990-1991. We called him Uncle Gerry. He was a terrific friend who I miss very much. He was very encouraging and liked my Rhodan impressions. He gave me good advice and I never got to thank him for it. If you are listening Gerry. Thanks for everything man. God Bless..

I remember Gerry from Bakersfield High School, class of 1956. He was quite the artist. He caught one of our teachers riding his bike to school and drew a very funny picture of this. I laughed so hard when he passed the picture to me, the teacher sent me out of the class until I "could control myself". I saw Gerry a couple of years ago when he was working for the credit control company and we had a nice visit. I am so sorry to hear he is no longer here. I was looking forward to seeing him at our 50th class reunion this year.
