Gilbert Lopez Arjona August 26, 1970 - February 27, 2011 Visitation for Gilbert L. Arjona will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles Street) on Monday, March 7, 2011 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with the Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery (3700 River Blvd.) Gilbert was born August 26, 1970 in Delano, CA. He was called home to be with God on February 27, 2011. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ofelia Lopez Fierro and his brother, Miguel Arjona, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Christina (Baeza) Arjona; brothers, Rene Arjona, Eutimio Arjona, Reynaldo Arjona, Fernando Arjona and Ricardo Arjona; sisters, Hermelinda Arjona, Elisa Tirado, Rosamaria Arjona, Minerva Enriquez and Margarita Arjona; father, Miguel Arjona, Sr. of McAllen, Texas; 29 nieces and nephews; 27 great nieces and nephews; 1 great great niece and 2 God-Daughters. Gilbert will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He had many talents. Besides being the best BBQ King in the world, he could make you laugh so fast when you felt at your lowest. He would help anyone who asked him for help. He was always there when you needed him. Gilbert loved his two babies, Sasha Marie and Lily Mae, they always slept at his feet and were Daddy's Girls. He was an "avid" Dodger and Raider fan. Never missing a game. The family would like to thank everyone for all the prayers and love given at this time of need. Christina would like to say a "special" thank you to her cousin, Yvonne Zorrilla, for always being here for her. (You're the best). The Cabral family would like to take this time to say we were deeply saddened to hear of your passing. Even though we hadn't know you for that long, we could tell you were a very special person. It's hard to believe I am sitting here writing this to you...We are all still in shock. Gilbert even though we hadn't known each other long, only "of" each other, you was always kind and respectful no matter what was going on.For that I will always be grateful. My kids all thought the world of you and loved you very much. You will be greatly missed.
