Gina Castaneda Obituary
August 12, 1969 - May 6, 2022
Gina was taken from us Friday, May 6, 2022, and our family is grieving this tragic, and sudden loss.
Gina was born, and raised in Bakersfield, California and attended Highland High Schools program for deaf and hard of hearing students. At a young age, she played Bobby Sox softball, and collected all things Garfield. She got her first job working at McDonald's.
Though life was not easy for her, growing up deaf, in a hearing world, she always had a positive attitude, a warm smile, and was a friend to all. She loved all babies, but especially her grandchildren, and enjoyed seeing them at family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Hope Castaneda.
She is survived by her two children, Samantha Howard, and Brice Goetsch, her grandchildren Audrianna, Aiden, and Adelina, her brother Michael Flores-Castaneda, and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking loved ones to consider making a donation to the Bakersfield Rescue Mission, or B-GLAD, serving Bakersfield's deaf and hard of hearing community.

We will miss you cousin. Though I wish you were still here, I´m so glad you are with your mom and dad. We love you Gina! Thanks for the smiles and the memories growing up. We will all carry you in our hearts forever.
