Jack Dalton "J.D." White

1931 - 2008

Jack Dalton White 'J.D.' 1931 - 2008 J.D. was born July 18, 1931 and spent his early years in Detroit where his father worked as a professional musician. His family spent a short time in Oskaloosa, Iowa living with his grandparents while his father continued his music career in Hollywood. He considered Seal Beach, California home living there during his school years from grade school through college. He spent his adult years raising his family in Huntington Beach before relocating to Bakersfield in 1983. The oil business provided J.D. a satisfying and successful career which spanned over 56 years; the last 30 running the family business until his unexpected death August 7, 2008. His knowledge and expertise were often sought out by many throughout the industry. J.D. was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He leaves his wife and life partner of 55 years Glenda; sons, Brett and Drew, and daughters- in-law, Janie and Mida. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren, Kendra, her husband Marcel; Taylor; and Garett and his wife, Brittany. He adored his great- granddaughters; Ava and Audrey. They were a source of great pride and received his unlimited love and affection. J.D. touched many lives. We, who were fortunate to share in his life journey, had an opportunity to witness his love, devotion, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to personal integrity and professional ethics. His wit, humor and unique view on life will be missed. He has left a lasting legacy full of great times, memories, and one-liners that will be shared for years by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 15th, 11:00 a.m., at Hillcrest Mortuary. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to the Make a Wish Foundation.
