Jeffrey Barrett Mills, Sr., age 63, of Bakersfield, CA and Kenai, AK passed away Friday, June 10, 2022.
Jeff was born in San Mateo, CA on November 15, 1958 and was adopted by Dale and Alice Mills. They moved to Bakersfield in 1964 where he attended Rushmore and Garces where he graduated in 1976. He attended various colleges and universities and worked in the engineering field until he obtained his Civil Engineering License. In 1981 he married Mary Jane (Lackey) and they were blessed, despite the odds, with 7 children. In 1993, he followed his dream and moved his family to Alaska.
Jeff was preceded in death by his brother, John and his father, Dale.
Jeff is survived by his mother Alice, his sisters Janet and Jane, his ex-wife Mary Jane and their children and spouses Cathrine, Natalie, Jeffrey, James, Amanda, MaryPat, Benjamin, by his girlfriend Laurie Kharazi and by his 13 grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 2-6pm at the home of Alice Mills, 7108 Darrin Ave, Bakersfield, CA 93308 for anyone who would like to share fond memories of Jeff.

I was very saddened to hear about this. Jeff and Tim both gave me my first opportunity to work in the field of civil engineering shortly after I graduated college. I will always appreciate their step of faith in me.
