Jess Patterson Winters, Jr., of Bakersfield, California, passed away June 15, 2018, and is now with his Lord and Savior.

For the full obituary, please visit www.greenlawnmortuaryandcemetery.com Jess was born in San Angelo, Texas, on April 6, 1929 to Jess Patterson Winters and Mary (Peters) Winters. He was a proud World War II Veteran of the U. S. Navy where he served aboard the U.S.S. Taluga.
Jess married Constance Westbrook, also of San Angelo, Texas on October 1, 1948 and moved to California in 1953 with two children; Jess Robert and Sherry where he was employed as a carpenter. Over the next four years, Jess and Connie were blessed with two more girls; Cathy and Diane.
Jess said many times, he was blessed to be married to two great women. After Connie's death in November 2000, Jess was introduced to Patsy Stroope of Lubbock, Texas and married in August 2001. They enjoyed 16 wonderful years together until her death in August, 2017.
Jess is survived by his children, Jess R (Susan) Winters, Sherry (Bill) Keith, Cathy (Chris) Carlson and Diane Winters of Bakersfield, CA; Patsy's daughter, Lesa Kay (Ian) Hoffman of Lexington, KY. He is loved by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by both spouses, Connie (married 53 yrs) and Patsy (married 16 yrs), his parents, Jess P. and Mary Winters, along with all of his brothers and sisters and their spouses.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 28th, at 10:00 am at Liberty Christian Center, 8801 South H Street, Bakersfield, Ca, 93307 In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Teen Challenge/Kern County.
