Jimmy Boster Obituary

Jimmy Wayne Boster February 14, 1951 - October 19, 2010 Visitation for Jimmy Wayne Boster will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles Street) on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the Basham Funeral Care Chapel on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Bakersfield National Cemetery. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, William and Tennie Boster and his sister, Shirley Daves. He is survived by his wife, Jerrie Boster; daughter and son-in-law, Syndie and Nico Franzetti; daughter, Amanda Sly; sisters, Billie Jacobsen, Frances Goatcher and Joan Boster as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jim loved his Country, his family and his friends. He was full of life and fun, an avid fisherman and camper and loved the outdoors along with Nascar racing. Appreciated spending time with friends and family at the lake fishing, camping, playing darts - cards - and pool or cheering on the drivers during Nascar season. He was an amateur photographer first, and only a subject when you could catch him! He loved a good practical joke, and could laugh at himself when he was pranked. He was proud to have served his country and was grateful for all who also served no matter the branch. For additional service information, please contact Basham Funeral Care at 873-8200. Dear Little Brother,
I will miss you terribly. The camping trips, visits to the coast and you dragging me around the lake on that crazy tube. You were laughing the whole time. Jerri, you are constantly in my prayers, love you! Remember he is but sleeping until Christ returns.

To say we were shocked to have heard of Jim's passing is an understatment. Our thought, hearts & prayers go out to Jerrie, Syndie & Amanda... There are so many memories we have of Jim. All the nights just sitting in the garage w/Gene, Lonnie, Jerrie & whoever else showed up playing darts & drinking the 'right' beer... Watching nascar with everyone & Jim yelling like the rest of us as though they could really hear us thru the TV! We did a lot of camping trips with Jim, Jerrie & Syndie (when she was way younger) and those memories we will always cherish. Jim was our best man at our wedding and I am glad we will have that memory most of all. Jim was not only Dwayne's co-worker for many years but he & Jerrie are our friends, always there to lend a hand or an ear they were there to listen to us each if we were having a bad time of it. They watched Dwayne & I grow from a 'very' young maried couple struggling with 2 babies to 'finally' 2 adults that had their heads screwed on right. Jim & Dwayne worked together for many years in these aweful oilfields but if not for that he would not have been a part of our lives & we would have missed out on a lot of great laughs.. The last few years life seemed to slip away from us & we didn't see eachother & for that I know Dwayne will forever be regretful of. Don't let the little things in life get in the way of friendships because you never know when it will be the last time you see them & get to say I Love You... We Love You Jimmy Wayne Boster... RIP Jim & Gods Speed Friend... "Caught at the Trap"
