Joanie Woods Obituary

Joanie Scarborough Woods 1947-2013 Joanie was born in Visalia, Ca. in 1947 to Stanley "Tex" and Vera Scarborough. She went home to be with the Lord on March 15, 2013. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bill, her sister Jan and her sister Jeanie. She was an extraordinary mother to four grateful children and "Nonnie" to nine beautiful grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Mark Woods, daughters Laurie Flowers, Lisa McGill, Kelly Archer, son Ryan Fergon, her beloved furry companions Kota, Winnie, Sophie, Bruno, Kramer, and is also survived by her brother Wyman Scarborough. Joanie was passionate about her family and loved decorating her home. She was always the "cool" mom and nonnie. The children she loved on extended far from just her own and was always there for anyone who needed her. She was there for hugs, a great meal, a spirited debate, insightful advice, or just a shoulder to cry on. She will be dearly missed and has left a legacy that will be passed on to generations. What a surprise to read of Joanie's passing! I worked with her at Shoe Tree N' Things,in the days when she was a single mom,(Kelly and Ryan were young) and she drove "Monte," to work. We shared a lot of laughs and a few tears. I'm so sorry for your loss, but I take comfort in knowing I will see her again with OUR HEAVENLY FATHER, Precious in the sight of the Lord, is the death of His Saints. Psalm 116:15. God Bless You All, Linda Brandon.
