Visitation will be held on Monday, September 14, 2015 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Basham-Hopson Funeral Care (620 Oregon St.) A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at RiverLakes Community Church (4301 Calloway Dr.)
Dave, 67, passed away peacefully on Tuesday at home with his wife Jan and family by his side. He was a faithful focused man of God. Family was his most important priority next to his relationship with his savior Jesus Christ. Dave was a loving husband, father, son, brother, pop and great grand pop. He was a faithful friend and was supported in faith by his Mighty Men.
Born and raised in Bakersfield, he graduated from South High. He spent time in the military where he proudly served his country for 3 years. He then went to work for Pacific Bell for 35 years before he retired to be a full time husband and grand pop. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Jan of 47 years; son, Jeff and wife Tracy; daughter, Shannon Ely and husband Chris; 7 grandchildren, Shelby, Scott, Wesley, Micalyn, Ethan, Emma and Jordan and 2 great grand kids Brody and Whitley Joel; siblings, Carl, Steven and Marla and many nieces and nephews.
