Jon was outgoing and personable with many hobbies that included making hand-hewn, antler-handled knives. An avid user of Facebook and Messenger, Jon loved street rods and motorcycles and had his first motorcycle at the age of 5. He also competed as a team roper in his 20's and 30's but was known to many in the area for competing in western swing dancing.
Preceded in death by his father, Daniel Nord, and step-father, Don Shetters, Jon is survived by his Mother, Jimmie Shetters, and sisters Kathleen Craig and Karla Birks.
His family would like to thank Jon's special friends Lynn Huckaby, Brad Ray and Kristen Rinehart who assisted him during his brief and unexpected illness.
A candlelight Celebration of Life will be held at the Freedom House, 527 Niles Street, February 24, 2018, at 5 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to Marley's Mutts, Jon's favorite charity.

Jon-boy was the younger sibling that used to love to tag along and annoy us, as all of our younger siblings did. When he was younger he made us mad and he made us laugh. I am pretty sure he tattled on us a time or two also. As he got older, he was a character and a prankster. We shared a birthday, November 20th..it didn't matter where we were at in life, I could always count on a text or weird phone message on my birthday from Jon-boy. Karla Craig....I love you sister....big hugs to you and your family...
