Josefina "Josie" Luminarias

Josefina "Josie" Luminarias 1942 - 2012 Josefina "Josie" Luminarias, age 69, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at San Joaquin Community Hospital. Born March 4, 1942, in the Philippines, Josie moved her family to Bakersfield in 1985. She worked as a supervisor for the County of Kern, Human Services Department and retired after 18 years. Josie is survived by her husband, Luisito; her sister, Mila Martell; her brothers, Manoling, Tony, and Carlito Martell; and her children, Anthony, Kristine, Arthur, Katherine, Karen, Kim, Arnold, and Kathleen. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2012, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday, January 20, 2012, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A church service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 7100 Stockdale Highway, followed by burial at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Park, 2739 Panama Lane, and a reception in Logan Hall at St. Philip the Apostle Church.
