Joyce Elanore Holland

Joyce Elanore (Wells) Holland October 29, 1936 ~ November 4, 2012 Born in Bakersfield, CA, and attending local schools for the early part of her childhood, Joyce then moved with her family to Frazier Park, CA, attending local elementary schools. She then attended and graduated from Bakersfield High School in 1956. She and her husband of 58 years, Carl Holland, were instrumental in the founding of the Frazier Park Church of Christ, and worshiped there with their children for more than 40 years. She loved to sing, especially spiritual and praise music, and had a beautiful voice. Joyce was employed by the County of Kern, Kern Medical Center for more than 14 years, a job she was proud to do, and admired those with whom she worked. Joyce is survived by her husband, Carl C. Holland; three sons, Edward R. Holland and wife, Diana, Kenton L. Holland and wife, Cindy, and Timothy Holland and wife, Cyndy; one daughter, Carla J. Johnson and husband, Wade Johnson; sister, Gloria Alesso; and brother, Edward Wells and wife, Anita. She also leaves 15 grandchildren, Marvin Holland and wife, Heidi, Ernie Esparza, Lindsy Sweat, Jason Holland, Josh Huyck, Nicholas Holland, Misty Baty, Crystal Johnson, Natalie Padua, James Shelton and wife, Cassie, Melissa Johnson, Amy Shelton, Victoria Holland, and Courtney Johnson; along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.
