Beloved Daughter, Sister & Friend 1965-2004
On Monday, March 15, 2004 Karen entered paradise without a moments hesitation. God called her and she answered yes.
A life well served, Karen spent her days and nights serving the Lord and his people. Though we feel Karens passing to be tragic and untimely, she would disagree. A mentor to many, her focus was to share the glory of God and to bring people together. Driven to show others the opportunity, the rewards and the joy that comes with serving the Lord and others, Karen was always the first to start a new group or have a time of fellowship in her own home. After being saved in 1997, Karen humbly devoted her time to others so they could know of the promise that God has made.
The words you are about to read are taken from a letter Karen had written just two days before she left for Jordan. The letter was only to be opened and small parts of it shared in the event of her death.
When God calls there are no regrets. I tried to share my heart with you as much as possible, my heart for the Nations. I wasnt called to a place I was called to Him. To obey was my objective, to suffer was expected, His glory my rewards, His glory my reward.
Karen was preceded in death by her father Ted Watson, grandparents Paul and Atha Stamps and a nephew.
A family that is so proud of her and that will miss her everyday survives her. They are her mother, Yvonne Lawson, brother Richard Gibson and wife Aleta, sisters Vicki Daniels, Lorraine Neufeld and husband Barry and Connie Miller; 5 nieces and 7 nephews, 5 great-nieces and 5 great-nephews; as well as many aunts, uncle and cousins.
In lieu of flowers Karens Family requests that donations be made to Valley Baptist Church Missionaries Fund, so the work that Karen had devoted her life to can continue.
A celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at 1:00 in the afternoon at Valley Baptist Church. Visitations will be on Tuesday, March 23, from 3:00~9:00 pm at Autumn Oaks Funeral Home.
