Karine Kanikkeberg Obituary
October 24 1963 – August 29, 2025
Karine passed away on August 29, 2025 in Genesee Idaho. She was raised in Bakersfield and graduated from Foothill High School in 1982.
Karine spent her younger years attending college and bartending /cocktailing at many local favorites like John Bryans, The Rice Bowl and Guthrie's Alley Cat. She accumulated friends wherever shed go and was always the life of the party. She loved to host dinners for friends and family, plan a girls night or meet up with an old coworker for a spontaneous lunch date.
Her enthusiasm was absolutely infectious, and when she married Danny Hagenbaugh on August 21, 1993, she made sure their wedding was one to remember. She always wanted everyone to be having as much fun as she was having.
In 1994 Karine went back and finished college and in that same year, landed her dream job working for the Bakersfield High Schools.
Karine was best known for for putting her whole heart into the things she cared about. That included the kids in her care at The Adult School, her best girl friend group, and Gonzaga Basketball.
There was no stopping her when it came to her passion for supporting local businesses, her excitement for March Madness or making quality time for friends, new and old. We will miss you KK. Your generous heart, beautiful smile and unwavering loyalty will be cherish forever.
Karine is survived by her mother Phyllis Kanikkeberg, sister Mary Kanikkeberg-Fischaber and many dear friends.
Karine is proceeded in death by her husband Daniel Hagenbaugh and her father Jordan Kanikkeberg
We will be honoring our friend Karine at 11:30AM with a lunch buffet on October 25, 2025 at Guthrie's Alley Cat 1525 Wall Street Alley Bakersfield

She definitely was full of energy and was always compassionate with her tasks at hand, those who worked near her and students. I will miss my talks with her and her humor! She was always a great person to visit with.
