Lorraine Scheloski Obituary

Lorraine Edrie Scheloski August 12, 1924 - October 25, 2012 Lorraine was born in Falun, Kansas to Victor and Mabel Sundgren. She passed away at her daughter's home after battling valiantly a brief reoccurring cancer. She married the love of her life Robert Scheloski in 1946, and they enjoyed 62 years of a wonderful marriage. She retired from the County of Kern after working many years as a Typist Clerk. Throughout her adult life everyone who met her, even her doctors and nurses at the last, said she was one of the nicest and most loving persons. Her main goal in life was to be a good wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother which she triumphed. She kept very active in her clubs and activities which included Retired Employees of Kern County, Mended Hearts Inc., Kern County Mineral Society, and her Silver Sneakers gym class and friends at the Rosedale Family Fitness. She loved her neighborhood and talking to her special friends Cozette, Marge, and Zoa. Her special McDonalds Coffee group with friends was another great love. Special friends include San and Evelyn, Annie Sabol and Zelma Lopez. Lorraine is preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband, her sister, Kathyrn Leiker, her brother, Wayne Sundgren, and a son, Ken Scheloski. Survivors include a daughter, Kay and Ron Hevle; grandson, Justin and Andrea Hevle; great-grandsons, Montgomery, Sebastian and James Hevle; grandson, Nathan Hevle; sister-in-law Mary Ann Wing of Kansas City, Kansas; nephews, Brent and Brenda Wing (Jaron and Krissy) of Kansas City, Kansas; Ronald and Anna Leiker of Northridge, California and Donald and Dee Lieker of Agoura Hills, California; nieces, Judy and Ernie Robinson of Whitebird, Idaho; Cathi and Jack Saunders of New Meadows, Idaho; Diana and John Malin of Duarte, California; step-grandchildren, Eric and Julie Hevle (Jorden, Branden, Caylee) of Bakersfield, California; Staci and Candi Hevle (Greyson, Remington) of Bakersfield, California and Jeremy Hevle of Bakersfield, California. She was truly a wonderful beautiful lady with a smile that was treasured by all. She will be missed greatly. She believed in God's promise of a resurrection and one of her favorite scriptures was Revelation 21:3,4 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: "Look! The Tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. And He will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 2nd, at 11:00a.m. at Greenlawn Mortuary, 3700 River Boulevard. Special thanks to Mercy Hospice, Sister Mary Ann Bradish, Dr. Maria Garcia, Dr. Srivastava, Dr. Tommy Lee. In Lieu of flowers donations made be made to the American Cancer Society, and to Hoffmann Hospice or Mercy Hospice. www.bakersfield.com/obits
