Maria Castaneda

Recitation of the Rosary will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd., Sunday, April 2, at 5:30 p.m. and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at San Clemente Mission, 1305 Water St., Monday, April 3, at 9:00 a.m. for Maria Castaneda, 76, who passed away March 29, 2006. Father Ralph Belluomini will officiate the Rosary and Father Joaquim Cheon will officiate the Mass. Mrs. Castaneda was born on September 12, 1929, in Mexico and resided in Kern County for 49 years. She was preceded in death by her mother Angela, sister Antonia Barker and brother Juan Garcia. She is survived by her husband of 60 years Jess Castaneda; daughters Sandra Gaona, Irma Castaneda and Angela Castaneda; sons Jess Castaneda Jr., Henry Castaneda and wife Shelly, Bob Castaneda and Danny Castaneda; granddaughters Theresa Torres, Sandi Gaona, Denise Ornelas, Breanna Castaneda and Danielle Castaneda; grandsons Michael Castaneda, Adam Castaneda, Bobby Castaneda and Lance Castaneda; great granddaughters Jessica Ornelas, Alicia Torres, Erica Torres, Weynnoh Castaneda, Micheyla Castaneda and Jillian Castaneda and great grandsons Gabriel Ornelas and Nicholas Torres. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Alicia Reyna and Ophelia Reyna for taking such wonderful care of our mother.
