Just thought I would leave another message after remembering times spent with Mark. A short time after Mark retired, He and I met and shared old stories, laughs and future plans over cold beers. Mark kept asking me not to forget him and asked me to keep in touch. Well as time went on I kept telling myself that I needed to call Mark and never got around to it. I regret not making the time to keep in touch with him. Mark passed away on my birthday, and that was Mark's way of making it easy for me not to forget him. Thank you Mark for all the good laughs. You will never be forgotten Brother. Rest in Peace.

Yo Mark! You went to young man!
I lived across the street from Mark and was one of the group of "odd guys" that hung around at EB.
Mark,Terry,Martin Dennis and I had some good times together even if we were the odd guys. Next time I am in Bakersfield I will make a run down Chester as a final salute to Mark.

I had the fortunate opportunity to work with Mark. He was a good deputy and a pleasure to be around. His sense of humor kept us in laughter, and he will be missed. My thoughts and condolence are with his family and friends.

I went to East High with Mark. We lived "on the same alley" growing up. Mark on Wenatchee St. and Me on Pasadena St. His dad would always take Mark to school in the morning and if I happened to be walking to school at the same time they would always stop and pick me up. Many of those foggy mornings in Bakersfield it was a very welcome sight to see the lights of their VW pulling up. I have often thought of Mark and his family in the years that have passed. My sincerest condolences to the family.

I grew-up with Mark at East High; a group of us who we referred to as 'odd-balls' would just to hang out at lunch on the steps of the Industrial Arts Building ragging on the day’s events. Mark and I both served as MP's in the U.S. Army and we would look each other up while on leave and swap stories about our various assignments. His with 'Army One', mine in Berlin doing security at an NSA Field Station. Mark took 'Cop-Shop' classes from my father at BC and would tell me what a cool father I had. He didn't live at my house. As the years drifted by, I would always promise myself that when I rarely traveled to Bakersfield I would go by and see Mark; never seemed to be enough time. I visited Mark many times in my memories of East High and BC and will travel thru the rest of my life being that much richer having known Mark. Rest my friend.

Mark was always a quiet guy posturing himself just outside of the turmoil of all issues. He circulated just an arms reach away from the chaos, and political issues. He was always a great guy, always one with a positive, or comment.
My thoughts to his family, and close friends during this tough time.
