MARTHA M. JACKSON

April 24, 1924 - August 24, 2021

Martha was born in Hanford, Calif. to Lena and Frank Silva and passed in Bakersfield.

She married Sydney C. Jackson before he left to serve our country with the Army-Air Force in 1941. She lived in Hanford, Tulare and Bakersfield (1957) as Sydney was transferred with Security Natonal Bank. She was employed in the credit departmet for Brock's Department store downtown and the Nile Point Veterinary Hospital. While living in Tulare she trained Guide Dogs for the Blind classes at our home. She was a very active member of our community being instrumental to getting the Just Say No to drugs in our city schools with rallies, poster contest and our city leaders speaking at these events. She was a member of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA) for over 56 years till her death. Community Action Against Drug and Alcohol Abuse (CAADAA) serving as President. Bakersfield Republican Women Federated, serving on multiple committees, and the Portuguese Fraternal Society of America supporting her heritage.

She will be deeply missed by brother Bob Silva (Carolyn) and their children Cindy Silva-Deteiler, Rob Silva and Pam Powell. Her Daughter Jeanne Bandy, granddaughters Tonya Gott and Brenee Bandy, great grandchildren Joe and John Rawles (Kaitlyn), Brody Bandy, best friend Beth Chambers and many more grandchildren, relatives and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Richard Silva (June) and many special friends who she missed greatly.

Special Thanks to Jamie Marino, Brenee Bandy and Carmen Gonsalez for their loving home care, Divine Mercy (Memory Care) and Hoffman Hospice for their care in her final days. She is now in peace and free from this awful disease.

In lieu flowers please donate to your favorite charity or Hoffman Hospice, Alzeimer (ADAKC), or Bakersfield Animal Shelter (Fruitvale).

Martha's life truly made a difference that will be felt by others and will be remember by so many for a long time to come. She was a very Special Lady and Mom.
